Reconciliation statement

In the spirit of reconciliation, Mackay Beach Horse Races acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their continuing connections to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. 

Inclusion statement

Mackay Beach Horse Races welcomes artists, riders, workers, volunteers and patrons of diverse backgrounds, orientations and identities. Bullying, abuse, harassment or discrimination on these or any other bases is not tolerated and should be reported to management or security.

Accessibility statement

Mackay Beach Horse Races is committed to being an accessible event for all, including those with acute or chronic conditions impacting or limiting their ability to participate.

Dedicated viewing/listening platforms accessible to those in wheelchairs, using mobility aids, with medically limited walking range, or with vision or hearing impairments are available, as are accessible bathroom facilities, parking and more. Please select the $0.00 Accessible Viewing add-on when you purchase your event ticket. (NB: A relevant concession card or a doctor’s certificate confirming an acute relevant condition must be produced at the gate if Accessible Viewing is selected.) Accessible viewing/listening platforms offer additional speakers and screens, plus unobstructed access points, located as close as possible to other amenities. 

Mackay Beach Horse Races also welcomes (and strives to assist) those who experience challenges with learning, communication, understanding and behaviour, including autism, intellectual disability, Down Syndrome, acquired brain injury, dyslexia, dementia etc., as well as their companions and/or carers. 

We are pleased to offer special pricing to those in receipt of a Disability Support Pension, as well as those who hold any of the following concession entitlements:

  • Seniors Card
  • Pensioner Concession Card
  • Health Care Card
  • Low Income Health Care Card
  • Veteran Card 

If you hold any such entitlement, please select a concession ticket at checkout to receive your discount, and remember to produce the relevant concession card at the gate. 

In addition, Companion Card holders are entitled to receive one free adult ticket for their carer or companion upon the purchase of their concession ticket. Simply select the $0.00 Companion add-on at checkout, and remember to produce the Companion Card at the gate.
